Dr. Jake Rowland

PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Dr. Jake grew up in Connecticut and moved to Atlanta after high school to pursue baseball. He played collegiate baseball at Union College before finishing his career at Gettysburg College.

He later earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from South College in Knoxville, TN.

“You can go fast alone, but further together.”
“I am because we are.”

These reflect how he approaches both patient care and teamwork: collaboration creates lasting success.

Core Values:
G.R.I.T. — Growth, Resilience, Interpersonal Connection, and Teamwork
He believes growth comes through challenge, resilience is built through adversity, and meaningful progress is driven by strong relationships. The best outcomes — in life and in rehabilitation — happen when people work together toward a shared goal.

Professional Philosophy:
His goal is simple: help patients get back to doing what they love — with confidence. Performance and recovery don’t happen in isolation. He believes you have to look at the entire ecosystem: movement quality, strength, recovery habits, lifestyle factors, and mindset. When the whole person is addressed, sustainable, long-term results are created.

Dr. Jake treats a wide variety of conditions and takes a holistic approach to care. He enjoys working with athletes — both recreational and competitive — as well as individuals motivated to regain function and take ownership of their health.

Favorites:

  • Gladiator (Movie)

  • Peaky Blinders (Show)

  • Game of Thrones (Show)

What makes Maritime special is the culture. The teamwork and environment create a space where patients feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for. The team is committed to helping people feel better — however they can — and that collaborative energy makes all the difference.

Outside the clinic, he stays active through strength training, running, pickleball, and golf. He enjoys traveling with his wife and spending time with their Bernedoodle puppy.

I have an extremely positive experience. Jake Rowland is by far the best physical therapist that I have ever worked with, and I have seen many. His knowledge and talents are at the top of his game. And most importantly, Jake is so personable, always approaching his clients in a very pleasant, positive way.  While demonstrating new exercises, he is very thorough, supplies the appropriate amount of information, and is very quick to also offer constructive criticism, as well as positive reinforcement when an exercise has gone well.

I will definitely recommend Jake to my family and friends, and wish him all the success that will surely come his way.

The other physical therapists also seem very friendly, personable, and very talented.

Thank you.
